Let's Keep in Touch!
Hello Lancashire We need to "Keep in Touch" I would like to pick up communication, in this newsletter, as the crucial issue in these changing times. As the Lancs LDC Exec we have established good dialogue with the Lancashire Area Team (LAT), particularly Nick Barkworth, and do discuss issues on a regular basis. What has to be accepted is that the LAT is a small team and has to cover a large footprint. We have been working as the Exec to look at innovative ways of working; to enable us to communicate efficiently with all our dentists across the patch and the Website is now taking off as the vehicle for information resource. For those of you who are not familiar with the website it operates county wide under the Lancs LDC Exec and is masterminded by Stuart Johnson (a GDP in Lancaster). The website is hosted by Lancashire Coastal LDC. Within the website we host information around 1. Information from the Centre. 2. Local Contractual Information. 3. Breaking news around the new contract (when it happens!) 4. Developments in the Minor Oral Surgery Service across the county. 5. The Lancashire Locums register ( a register of available Locums for practices). 6. Regular newsletters from me to keep everyone informed. 7. We are developing a 'hints and tips' around avoiding any problems - utilising feedback from our representatives on the performance groups. 8. We are setting up a Frequently Asked Questions section so information can be easily accessed by website registrants. Once you have registered and logged in to the website, you can select About, Library, Forum, Locums from the menu at the top. In addition to the information hosted, you will also see contact forms and email links to an increasing number of your local LDC reps, as well myself. We are always happy to hear feedback and suggestions that could improve the site further for all. We have given Nick and the team access to Stuart so he can upload information as it becomes available To access information from the website you need to register so please do this straight away and "Keep in Touch". If you do have a difficult issue that needs resolving and need to get this up to the Area Team you can get in touch with me and we can either take it to the Liaison Meeting or I will take it personally to Nick. Best way to contact me is by email email@example.com - if you need to talk on the phone please leave your number and best time to call and I will get back to you Upwards and Onwards Bernard Bernard Alston Sec Lancs LDC Exec.
